During the Grizzlies’ Game 3 loss to the Warriors, Warriors guard Jordan Poole grabbed Morant’s knee as he dribbled the ball, causing Morant to limp off the court.
Taylor Jenkins, coach of the Grizzlies, has said that Morant’s knee is being examined.

Jenkins elaborated on the question of its meaning by saying, “And I certainly didn’t imply that it was deliberate. It’s a grab, as I stated. Just wondering what went down here.”
Later, Morant tweeted that Poole had “broken the code.” However, he removed the tweet later on. Poole described the catch as “a basketball play” when asked about it.
Poole proudly claimed, “I hit the ball” after making the initial swipe. “I intended to go for the ball… I hope that nobody gets hurt. Besides, I’m not even a serious gamer.”
To paraphrase his colleague, Klay Thompson said: “We’re not on a killing spree or out to knock anyone unconscious during a break. We always follow the rules of the game.”
Morant had 34 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists in 36 minutes of action in Game 3. The Grizzlies were already down 26 points to the Warriors in the fourth quarter when he left the game.
