According to a statement made by the Georgetown athletic department on Friday and shared on Ewing’s Twitter account, the Georgetown basketball coach and former New York Knicks great is “isolated in a local hospital” after testing positive for COVID-19.

The statement included the words “I wish to announce that I have tested positive for COVID-19,” which Ewing revealed to the world. “Do not take this virus lightly; it is quite dangerous.
Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe, and I’ll do the same. I’d like to express my gratitude to those who work in healthcare and other frontline professions at this time. Yes, I will be quite fine, and we will get through this together.”

According to the Statement
Released by the Georgetown Athletic Department, Ewing, 57, is the only member of the Georgetown programme to have tested positive for the virus.
The CDC reports that the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the District of Columbia has been decreasing. But Ewing now joins the likes of New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton and New York Knicks owner James Dolan, among others, in publicly disclosing their positive coronavirus test results.
At the Start of his Fourth Year at the Helm,
Ewing has led Georgetown to a 49-46 record. When he retired from playing in 2002, he immediately began his coaching career as an NBA assistant.
After helping the 1984 Hoyas team win the national title, Ewing went on to become one of the best players in NBA history and an 11-time All-Star.
